About me…

I am a multimedia artist who strives to capture fleeting moments of light, color, and energy in order to translate them into a tangible experience. Throughout my undergrad at Humboldt State University, I made acrylic paintings that ranged from hyper-realist to abstract Op-art. Since graduating, I have delved into my love for various forms of wearable art such as earrings, crowns, accessories, clothing, and more. I appreciate the effectiveness and purposefulness of wearable art and make sure that my pieces are accessible to everyone no matter their race, gender, body shape, etc. Expression of the self is a very important part of my work because the work itself is an expression of me, but can also function as a means for others to reflect on and express themselves too. I am inspired by cosmic elements of the universe such as the sun and stars, natural elements of the world, as well as human-made materials including holographic glass and plastic. My work invokes a sense of childlike wonder when met with materials that have the ability to spark curiosity in the wonders of the world, or better yet, the wonders of the self as a part of the world. Through my use of color, patterns, shapes and material I am able to create a variety of optically stimulating experiences for the viewer. Whether it be my paintings or my fashion sense, I am thrilled by the idea of immersing oneself in art. Through my work, I encourage others to take a closer look at the magic that exists in themselves and all around us.
